Held Friday 14 to Saturday 29 July a The Street Theatre at various times.


Set in a world where an invasive government keeps a malevolently watchful eye on its citizens, this radical and much-lauded staging explores surveillance, identity and why Orwell’s vision of the future is as relevant now as ever. This show has toured around the world and been enjoyed by over a quarter of a million people.

Held Tuesday 25 July to Saturday 29 July at the Canberra Theatre Centre at various times.

Tower of Tomorrow with LEGO Bricks

With intricate models towering over three metres high, kids and big kids alike will be impressed by creative models of some of the world’s most iconic buildings. Create your own tower of tomorrow with more than 200,000 loose Lego bricks in the hands-on-construction area.

Held Friday 28 July to Sunday 8 August at the National Museum of Australia from 9am to 5pm. Each session is 45 minutes in length.

Mid Winter at the Arboretum

Spice things up this winter with hearty soups, mulled wine, outdoor adventures and live music at Mid Winter at the Arboretum. Choose from plenty of activities inside and out. Snuggle outside under the heaters enjoying sweeping views, find your inner zen walking the labyrinth by candle light, or hand-craft lanterns and embark on an outdoor storytelling adventure by the fire.Word to the wise, there is also a rare opportunity to join a guided sunset walk to the top of Dairy Farmers Hill.

This market will bring together the hottest creative talent from local Etsy sellers. Find handmade jewellery, vintage outfits, creative designs and artistic delights at this market.

Held Saturday 29 July at Exhibition Park in Canberra from 9am to 3pm.

Ultimate Women’s Weekend Expo

Escape the chilly weather, empower the woman in you and discover over 100 exhibitors showcasing everything from food through to wellbeing. Remember to keep an eye out for their free offerings – we hear there are over 50 workshops, pampering products in the relaxation zone and show bags full of goodies for the first 2000 through the door.

Held Saturday 29 to Sunday 30 July at Exhibition Park in Canberra from 10am to 6pm.

Night Ski & Ride

There is something thoroughly thrilling about skiing beneath the stars in the picturesque Tidbinbilla Mountain Ranges. Test your snow skills before warming up in front of an open fireplace and roasting giant, well-deserved marshmallows. Each night there is a different theme – try to master a new trick on Wednesday Park Night, take your fav girl for free on Girls Night, or indulge in a $10 woodfire pizza on Friday Family Pizza Night.

Held each Wednesday to Saturday from Wednesday 12 July to Saturday 2 September at Corin Forest from 5:30pm to 9:30pm.

AfterDARK Firefly Lantern Tour

Experience the sights, sounds and smells of the Australian National Botanic Gardens' native Australian flora by night.Start the evening with a delicious hot chocolate before trying your hand at lantern making.Your tour leader will then take you on a fascinating after dark discovery of the Gardens using your 'firefly lantern light' to help guide the way.

Held Saturday 1 July to Saturday 12 August at the Australian National Botanic Gardens from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Warm Trees at the National Arboretum

The Arboretum has been transformed by woollen warmth and colourful creations. Enjoy a winter walk through this knit and crochet installation, join in a free 'knit in', try your hand at crocheting or attend the Origami workshops for children during the school holidays.

Held from Saturday 1 July to Sunday 30 July at the National Arboretum Canberra from 9am to 4pm daily.
