Films at the National Film and Sound Archive

The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) presents an extensive screening program and a range of special events throughout the year.

Throughout 2017, we’re showcasing the NFSA collection items which UNESCO has included in its Australian Memory of the World Register: the world’s first narrative feature film, and 46 years’ worth of newsreels! They provide a significant snapshot of Australian life, culture and expression in the 20th century. Sit back, and discover these treasures.

Every Wednesday, settle in for a season of cinematic delights. Delight in a selection of rare, cult, classic and experimental treasures, with some special screenings from the NFSA's 35mm and 16mm collection.

Visit the NFSA's website to view the full calendar of events and screening times.
